We all love petting our dogs, so why not turn it into a great massage session? Spending quality time with your dog (or each of your dogs, if you have more than one) is important to keep your bond strong. We want our dogs to trust us with their lives as we provide for them, so making them feel comfortable being around us is important. Even the most independent dogs wants to spend time with their humans, and most dogs love a good scratch or belly rub. Why not turn it into some quality massage time?

With the belief that holistic animal therapy is centered on love, empathy and respect, Gillian uses her knowledge and skills to help improve an animal’s health and happiness, which can strengthen and deepen their connections to their human companions. Using a combination of animal communication, canine massage and remote or in-person energy healing work, Gillian helps animals activate their natural ability to balance and heal their physical, emotional and mental well-being. A session of Reiki for dogs is a bit different. For starters, dogs aren’t usually apt to hop up on a massage table and lie quietly on their back for an hour. They may also prefer to receive Reiki from a distance, like across the room, rather than have the practitioner touch them. A good way to start is for the practitioner to sit on the floor with the dog in the room. Invite the dog to share in the Reiki session if the dog so desires.

Before selecting a Reiki practitioner, you would need to determine whether an in-person or remote healing session would be best for your dog. Of note is that Reiki can be done remotely only by a level three Reiki Master. To become a Reiki Master you first need to be attuned by an existing Reiki Master, learn all of the activation symbols and practice for many months or years to get comfortable and confident with the process. However, a level one or level two Reiki practitioner can provide in-person, hands-on healing. Because Reiki consists of the same Universal Life Energy that makes every living thing alive, any living thing can be helped by Reiki energy. Reiki works throughout the body and each chakra to create a positive energy flow and remove any energy blockages that may exist.

Canine Massage Puts More “Pep” in Charlie’s Step: You’d never know that Charlie, an athletic spaniel/basset mix, is 12 years old. However, his owner noticed subtle signs of aging and wanted to help improve his muscle tone and make him feel good. “Charlie is a high energy, athletic dog, who does everything at 150 percent. Over the course of his canine massage treatment, I noticed him becoming more and more relaxed and calm, even falling asleep as Gillian worked her magic. Dog massage has also helped Charlie’s athleticism. At twelve years old, he still loves to run and fetch. I believe that these animal massage treatments have helped improve his muscle tone. There’s a lot more “pep in his step,” and he is able to catch the ball on a bounce more often. He just seems happier and I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome.” Source: https://fourpawsholistictherapy.com/.
