Mumbai: Shiv Sena on Friday declared a list of 21 candidates for the Lok Sabha poll, dropping an MP who hit an Air India staffer in 2017. Ravindra Gaikwad, 59, had hit an Air India staffer with a slipper at the IGI airport in Delhi and then openly boasted about it. The Sena has replaced Ravindra Gaikwad with Omraje Nimbalkar in Osmanabad constituency. The party named Hemant Patil as its nominee in the Hingoli seat, dropping Ashok Wankhede who lost to Congress candidate Rajeev Satav in 2014. As per the seat-sharing pact between the BJP and the Sena, the latter will contest 23 LS seats, leaving 25 for its senior alliance partner.
Movie News : Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt’s friendship dates all the way back to their first film, Student of The Year (2012). The two had made their debut with the Karan Johar film, and since then, have come a long way in their respective Bollywood journeys. They’ve worked together in two blockbusters, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania. They’ll next be seen together in Abhishek Varman’s Kalank. Today, Varun and Alia are considered two of the most bankable actors in Bollywood. In fact, Alia has been roped in for ambitious projects like RRR, Takht and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Inshallah. Varun took a little playful dig at Alia about this at an awards show. He said, “Inshallah, mashallah now that you are collaborating with big directors and actors, you won’t work with me!” Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor laughed at this, from the audience. Varun turned towards them and said, “After a couple of years, she won’t be working with either of you, too!” News website : Hindi News.
Sport news : India captain Virat Kohli said he would be ‘sitting at home if he thinks like people from outside’, responding, in his trademark combative style, to Gautam Gambhir’s recent jibe at him, but without taking the former opener’s name. Gambhir, who led Kolkata Knight Riders to two Indian Premier League titles — in 2012 and 2014 — recently said that in a result-oriented franchise environment, Kohli has been ‘lucky’ to have survived despite Royal Challengers Bangalore never winning the coveted title in his eight years as the captain. Asked about it, the batting maestro said, “Obviously, you want to win the IPL. I am doing what I am supposed to do. I don’t care whether I am going to be judged on this (not winning IPL) or not. There is no real, sort of, parameters you set. I try to perform wherever I can. I try to win all the possible titles, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. “We have to be practical about why we haven’t won one. That boils down to bad decision making in pressure situations. If I think like people from outside, I can’t even sustain five games. I would be sitting at home,” Kohli said.
Auto news : Swedish carmaker Volvo hopes to reinforce its reputation for safety-first driving by installing cameras and sensors in its cars from the early 2020s, monitoring drivers for signs of being drunk or distracted and intervening to prevent accidents. The safety features, detailed at a briefing in Gothenburg on Wednesday which fleshed out plans outlined earlier this month, mark another step by Volvo towards its pledge to eliminate passenger fatalities. Development of technology that would support such manoeuvres has accelerated in the past year as the industry increasingly focuses on autonomous cars. Volvo is building a driverless highway autopilot car with Swedish autoparts maker Veoneer as it aims to achieve a third of its sales from self-driving cars by 2025.
